IRS Tax Problem Case
How about this for an success story? Client owed $100,000 in IRS back taxes and walked out with a refund. Yes this happened. It was not easy.
The client came to us with an IRS Tax Problem. The client owed $100,000 in taxes. The client claimed the tax debt balance was not correct because the client filed an amended return. To make matters worse, the IRS is levying the client’s wages. The client is also trying to sell an house that was inherited. The sale is being delayed because there are IRS tax liens attached to the home.
This was one heck of a situation. Our first plan of attack was to address the IRS levies. We called the IRS to set up an IRS Installment Agreement. By setting up the installment agreement, the levy was released and it allowed us time to correct the amended tax return.
We figured out the problem with the amended return. If the tax problem was corrected, the client would receive a refund.
We ended up making many calls to the IRS to correct the tax problem. It was absurd the number of times we had to call the IRS. However, we did prevail. The IRS corrected the tax problem and the client received a nice check in the mail.
The IRS released all tax liens once the IRS tax problem was corrected. The client was able to sell the inherited home. An other win on this case.
The client started with $100,000 of tax debt. Who would of thought the client would end up getting a refund. It was definitely a surprising ending for us.
